PAUL PARSONS practices immigration & nationality law in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Parsons served as a Director on the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for seven years and is a former Chairman of the Texas-Oklahoma-New Mexico Chapter.  Mr. Parsons is a prior recipient of the national AILA Pro Bono Award for his efforts to provide immigration representation to those unable to afford counsel.  Mr. Parsons previously served as Chairman of AILA’s Committee on Consumer Protection.  He is a recipient of AILA’s Pro Bono Award and of an AILA Presidential citation.  Mr. Parsons served as a Board Member of the American Immigration Council (previously AILF).

In Texas, Mr. Parsons is the recipient of the Sam Williamson Memorial Award from the Texas Chapter of AILA for excellence in advancing the practice of immigration law.  He was appointed by Governor Ann Richards as Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Immigration.  Mr. Parsons served as Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Committee on Laws Relating to Immigration for 15 years.  He also served as Chairman of the Examinations Committee on Immigration for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 10 years, and as Chairman of the Board’s Immigration & Nationality Law Advisory Committee.  Mr. Parsons is a Past President of the Austin Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the recipient of their Outstanding Community Service Award.

Paul Parsons is fluent in Spanish.  He received a B.A. in Political Science from Oklahoma State University and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
